June 27, 2008 Back in October 2007, I created a 6-user Vista image using a customer's laptop. I imaged the Windows and data partitions on DVD and CD disks. However, for the longest time I could not get the image to boot on my desktop PC. By hacking around and some lucky serendipity I managed to boot the image on 1 of my PCs. However, I could not boot it on the other PC. For the longest time I had no knowledge of the error message! Just recently, I discovered I can tell Windows not to automatically restart after the blue screen of death (BSOD). Fortunately, I discovered mergeide.zip which prevents stop errors like stop: 0x0000007b (0x80604ba0, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) Finally I can deploy my vista image! I think it may be wise to turn off screen saver and to set computer hibernation to never. Right click anywhere on the desktop >personalize >screen saver >select none >apply Click Change power settings >balanced >Change Plan settings Set turn off display to 3 hours Set put the computer to sleep to never Click save changes
